Heraldic Crest Fireback

A 19th Century heraldic crest fireback cast after a 16th Century pattern depicting a lion and griffin flanking a shield centred with a rose.  Then topped with a crown with the date of 1571.

Believed to have been cast at the Robertsbridge forge while the original castings would have been from the Kent/Sussex Weald foundries.
